Private Andrew Inglis

Private Andrew William Inglis, 105th Battalion, Machine Gun Corps. He died in France on 12th November 1917, aged 21, of wounds received in action. He was the son of the late James and Mary Inglis of Newton Don, Kelso and is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. The photograph shows the conditions they had to endure during the latter stages of the Battle. when the incessant shelling had destroyed the fragile Flanders drainage systems.
