Private Adam Renwick

Private Adam Renwick, 2nd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was killed in France, on 23rd April 1917 in the same action as David Hope above, during the Battle of Arras aged 37. He had been born in Penicuik was the son of Margaret and the late Herbert Renwick of Tollishill, Oxton and is commemorated on the Arras, Memorial, Arras, France. He had been employed as a shepherd at Friars Knowe, Oxton when he enlisted in June 1916.The photograph shows British troops and a tank in the main street of a captured village near Arras.
