Gunner Harold Douglas

Gunner Harold Douglas, 2 Battery, 1st Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. He died in Northern Ireland , aged 28, on 18th June 1942. He was the son of Harry and Margaret Douglas and the husband of Mary Jane Douglas of Ashley Cottages, Newton St. Boswells. He is buried in Belfast City Cemetery. His Unit were defending the Harland and Wolff shipyards from enemy air raids. He was fatally injured when his army motor cycle was struck by a truck near Randlestown, County Antrim.
