Lieutenant Alexander Tweedie

Lieutenant Alexander David Tweedie, “D” Squadron, The Blues and Royals. He died in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on 22nd April 2003 aged 25 and is buried in Minto Churchyard. He was the son of Major Gavin and Mrs Phillipa Tweedie and had been educated at Eton College, Newcastle University and the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. He had had been commissioned in August 2001 and had been posted to Iraq where on operations his Scimitar Armoured Vehicle had overturned causing him severe injuries. He was transported to Edinburgh bur there had succumbed to his injuries.
