Private Robert Jessiman

Private Robert Jessiman, 12th ( Service ) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He was killed in action, aged 32, in France on 23rd May 1916 and is buried in Bois-Carre Military Cemetery, Haisnes, Pas de Calais, France. He had been born at Maxton Station and was the son of William ( former Station Master) and Elizabeth Jessiman of Maxton Stationhouse and Littledean, Maxton. He had married Agnes of Maryhill, Glasgow and before enlisting he had been employed as a motorman by Glasgow Tramways. He joined his Battalion in France in October 1915.
