Private Bernard Maclaren

Private Bernard Maclaren, 2nd Battalion, Black Watch  He was killed in action in France on 18th May 1915, aged 19. He was the son of Margaret and the late Edward McLaren of 38 Upper Warwick Street, Princes Road, Liverpool and is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial. He had been learning farming with Mr Pate at Redpath Farm, Longformacus when he enlisted in Autumn 1914. (  His brother Edward McLaren M.M. , 20th Battalion King’s ( Liverpool ) Regiment was also killed in action on the 8th September 1917 during the third Battle of Ypres ),
