Private David Lunam

Private David Lunham, Depot, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He had been born in Hownam and was the son of William and the late Jane Lunham of Hoselaw Mains, Linton and Burnbrae, Nenthorn. He had been employed as a road surfaceman when he enlisted in the 1st/4th K.O.S.B. in January 1915. Due to illness he was discharged from the Army in July 1918 and died in Kelso Cottage Hospital from kidney disease aged 26. He is buried in Nenthorn Cemetery.
