Trooper John Richardson Macnaughton, 1st Lothian and Border Horse, Royal Armoured Corps. He was killed in action in Holland on 24th January 1945, aged 24. He was the son of George and Helen Macnaughton of Ashkirk and is buried in Sittard War Cemetery., Limburg, Holland. The Regiment was equipped with the Sherman tank.
