Private James Laidlaw

Private James Laidlaw, 1st Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He died from wounds in hospital in Belgium, aged 31 on the 20th March 1915. He had been born in Lauder and was the son of the late Robert and Mary Laidlaw of High Street, Lauder. He was a Regular Soldier and had served in India. His Battalion landed in France in December 1914 as part of the Sirhind Brigade in the 3rd (Lahore) Division in the Indian Corps.  He is buried in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.
