Private Adam Scott

Private Adam Gunn Scott , 7th/8th ( Service ) Battalion. Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in France on 23rd July 1918, aged 30. He had been born in Liliesleaf and was the son of Adam and Euphemia Scott of Stow and the husband of Jean Scott of Dewar Place, Edinburgh and Bank Cottage, Lauder and he is commemorated on the Soissons Memorial, France.  Before enlisting in 1916 he had been employed as a tailor in Lauder. He fell in the attack on Buzancy where the Battalion suffered heavy casualties with Other Rank casualties of 90 killed and 219 wounded.
