Private Adam Fleming

Private Adam Fleming, (possibly), 12th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. ( He had been transferred from the Kings Own Scottish Borderers ). He died in France on 22nd May 1917 of wounds received during the Battle of Arras, aged 19 and is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, Etaples, France. He had lived in Galashiels and had enlisted in Berwick-upon-Tweed at the K.O.S.B. barracks. The photograph shows British troops accompanied by a tank in a captured village near Arras.
