Private Thomas Rowan

Private Thomas Rowan, 1st Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in action in France on 12th December 1917, aged 22. He was the son of Bryan and Elizabeth Rowan of East Fenton, Wooler and is buried in Mory Abbey Military Cemetery, Mory, Evilliers, Pas de Calais, France. He fell during a German attack on the ” Apex ” position which was part of the trench system in the Bullecourt sector. Casualties were 13 Other Ranks killed and 11 missing. 2 Officers and 32 Other Ranks were wounded.
