Sergeant Robert Smith

( Possibly )  Sergeant Robert Cyril Smith, Royal Air Force. He was lost on Air Operations with 102 ( Ceylon ) Squadron R.A.F. on 8th April 1941, aged 19. He was the son of Robert and Margaret Smith of Coxhoe, Co. Durham and is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial. 102 Squadron at the time of loss flew the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley on night bombing raids over occupied Europe from R.A.F. Topcliffe
