Sergeant William Morrison

Sergeant William Paton Morrison, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was a Wireless Operator and died on Active Service on 17th June 1943, aged 23. He was the son of John and Margaret Morrison of 14 Inch Park, Kelso and is buried in Kelso Churchyard and his headstone is inscribed ” Until The Day Break And The Shadows Flee Away”. He was a keen cricketer and was employed in the Royal Bank of Scotland in Kelso before enlisting in 1940. He was aboard an Avro Anson from the Central Navigation School when it crashed near Northwich.
