Private Robert Patterson

Private Robert Patterson, 10th ( Service ) Battalion, Black Watch. He was killed in action in Salonica on 9th May 1917, aged 35. He was the son of James and Anne Patterson of Ednam and the husband of Elizabeth Niven Patterson of Orchard Cottage, Kelso. Before enlisting he had been employed as Hallman at Floors Castle, Kelso. He fell in an attack on the Bulgarian positions at the Petite- Couronne and is commemorated on the Doiran Memorial, Macedonia, Greece. The photographs show the Black Watch at Salonika.
