Private James Rodgers

Private James Rodgers, “B” Coy. 3rd Battalion, Canadian Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 3rd May 1917 during the Battle of Arras, aged 20. He was the son of John and Mary Rodgers of 13 Union Street, Kelso and is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, France. He had emigrated to Canada in 1913 to learn fruit farming and had enlisted in Toronto in December 1915.  The photograph shows Canadian troops at Arras.
