Captain James Crawford

Captain James Wolfenden Crawford, M.B.,Ch.B., Royal Army Medical Corps. He died on Active Service in India on 5th May 1942, aged 32. He was the son of Robert and Edith Crawford of Edinburgh and the husband of Margaret Crawford of Charlesfield, Kelso. He  is buried in Madras War Cemetery, Chennai, India where his Headstone is inscribed ” Greater Love Hath No Man”. He had graduated from Edinburgh University and joined the medical practice of Dr. McCracken in Kelso in 1936.
