Private David Lunham

Private David Lunham, Depot, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. he died from kidney disease in Kelso Cottage Hospital, aged 26, on the 20th December 1919. He had been born in Hownam and was the son of William and the late Janet Lunham of Burnbrae, Nenthorn, Roxburghshire. He had been a road surfaceman before he enlisted in the 1st/4th K.O.S.B. in 1914. Due to his illness he served mostly at the Depot and was finally discharged from the Army in 1918. He is buried in Nenthorn Churchyard. ( His brother Thomas had died from wounds at Gallipoli in July 1915 ).
