Sergeant Andrew Douglas

Sergeant Andrew Douglas, 1st Battalion, Scots Guards. He died in France on 2nd April 1918, aged 24, and is buried in Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, Nord, France. He had been born in Kirk Yetholm and was the son of Agnes Douglas. He had enlisted in April 1916. The Battalion had been relieved from the front line on 1st April by 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards with no fatalities but in reserve at Blaireville on 2nd April one man ( Douglas ) was killed and 6 men wounded by a stray shell.
