Sergeant Pilot Adam Anderson

Sergeant Pilot Adam Anderson, Royal Airforce Volunteer Reserve. He was lost on an Air Operation with 49 Squadron R.A.F. over Denmark on 21st April 1943, aged 20. He was the son of James and Margaret Anderson of Kelso and is buried in Lemvig Cemetery, Denmark. His Headstone is inscribed ” His Body Is Buried In Peace But His Name Liveth For Evermore “. The Squadron was part of 5 Group Bomber Command and flew the Avro Lancaster from R.A.F. Fiskerton. During the War the Squadron flew 6,501 sorties and lost 163 Aircraft.
