Corporal William Watson

Corporal William Watson,  Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He died on Active Service on 11th January 1943, age 29. He had been born in Reston and was the son of William and Helen Dickson of Coveycleuch and the husband of Margaret H. Watson of Ford, Midlothian. Before enlisting he had been employed as a porter at Reston Station.  He drowned when his R.A.F. loory fell into the Imperial Dock, Leith during the blackout. He is buried in Houndwood Churchyard, Houndwood, Berwickshire. where his Headstone is inscribed ” Until The Dawn “.
