Private John Tinlin M.M.

Private John Tinlin, M.M. 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action on 30th July 1918 during a Trench Raid on German trenches near the village of La Lacque. He was the youngest son of George and Jane Tinlin of Cheviot View, Horncliffe and is buried in Tannay British Cemetery, Thiennes, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” Until the Day Break And The Shadows Flee Away Sol.17 “.
