Corporal Robert Houliston

Corporal Driver Robert  P. Houliston, 24th Motor Ambulance Convoy , Army Service Corps. He died from pneumonia on 26th February 1919 aged 28. He had been born in Coldstream and was the son of Robert and Isabella Houliston of Camp Moor Cottage, Langton and was the husband of Mary Houliston of Gavinton and is buried in Belgrade Cemetery, Namur, Belgium. He had been working as a motor mechanic in Duns when he enlisted in June 1915, serving in France and Germany. He died in the 48th Casualty Clearing Station in Namur, probably from the Spanish Flu epidemic which was sweeping the World.
