Private Hugh George Kinghorn Henderson, Bugler, 8th ( Service ) Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 27th November 1915 aged 19. He had been born in Eglingham and was the son of Annie and the late James Henderson of 6 West Street, Wooler, Northumberland and is buried in Chapelle-D Armentieres New Military Cemetery, France. 8th S.L.I. was part of the 21st Division. Before enlisting he had lived at Kimmerston.
