Private Thomas Bolton

Private Thomas Bolton, 7th/8th ( Service ) Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in France, aged 29, on 23rd July 1918 and is buried in Buzancy Military Cemetery, Buzancy, France. He had been born in Fogo and was the son of Isabella Bolton of Linthill, Eyemouth. He had been a farm servant at Linthill when he enlisted and was posted to the 1st Battalion in France and then to the 6th Battalion and finally the 7th/8th Battalion. In the attack between Rozieres and Buzancy the Battalion suffered 4 Officers and 95 Other Ranks killed with 7 Officers and 214 Other Ranks wounded.
