Deck Hand Robert Thompson

Deck Hand Robert Thomson, Fishing Fleet. He was lost at sea aboard the Fishing Vessel “Maisie” ( Berwick Upon Tweed ) on 21st September 1945, aged 43. He had been born in Eyemouth and was the son of John and Elizabeth Young Thompson and is commemorated on the Tower Hill, Memorial, London. The boat had been fishing 9 miles out from Eyemouth when she blew up. It was believed she had struck a mine. (Two other Eyemouth men were also lost, Robert Swanston and William Collin, but they are not named on the Memoria )
