Second Hand ( Mate ) Robert Cowe

Second Hand ( Mate ) Robert Cowe, Royal Naval Reserve. He was lost aboard H.M. Drifter “Christina Craig” on 15th February 1918, aged 48. He had been born in Eyemouth and was the son of Joseph and Isabella Cowe of Eyemouth and the husband of Christina Cowe of Gowanlea, Eyemouth and is commemorated on the Chatham Memorial. He was joint owner of the Drifter along with William Collin and the son of the late Andrew Cowe who had been lost in the great Eyemouth Fishing Disaster of 1881, known as ” Black Friday “.
