Chief Engineer James Chapman

Chief Engineer  James Robert Chapman, Fishing Fleet. He was lost at sea aboard the Steam Trawler” Ben Glamair “( North Shields ) on 17th July 1941 aged 44. He had been born in Lowestoft and was the husband of Mary G. Chapman of  Princes Street, North Shields and Bursa Court, Church Street, Eyemouth and is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London. The cause of the loss was unknown and she was lost with all hands. The vessel was a steam trawler of 198 tons built by Hall Russell of Aberdeen in 1914 and at the time of loss was sailing from North Shields.
