Trimmer John Patterson

Trimmer John Patterson, Royal Naval Reserve. He died on Service on 25th December 1918 aged 33. He had been born in Eyemouth and was the son of William and Margaret Patterson and the husband of Isabella Patterson of Glens Buildings, Albert Road, Eyemouth and is buried in Eyemouth Cemetery.   He had served his apprenticeship as a sailmaker in Eyemouth and enlisted in February 1916.  He was serving at H.M.S. Gunner which was the Granton Naval Base, Edinburgh when he contracted septicaemia and died in the R.N. Hospital in Edinburgh.
