Seaman Writer Harry Lough

Seaman Writer Harry Nelson Lough, Royal Navy. He died on Service in hospital on 3rd November 1942 aged 22. He had been born in Eyemouth and was the son of Harry and Margaret Stewart Lough of 27 Albert Road, Eyemouth and is buried in Eyemouth Kirkyard. He had been a member of the crew of the Danae Class cruiser H.M.S. “Dragon” which had been launched on the Clyde in 1917. The cruiser spent the second half of 1942 in refit and he may have become ill whilst on leave. He died from chronic pneumonia in the Edenhall Hospital, Inveresk, Musselburgh. His brother William also died during the War – see above.
