Private Gavin Buchanan

Private Gavin Buchanan, 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders. He was killed in action in France on 18th June 1915, aged 29 .He was the son of the late Gavin and Mary Buchanan of Gunsgreen Hill, Eyemouth and the husband of Agnes Buchanan of Corsbie, Earlston, Berwickshire. They were married in Ednam in 1913. He is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial. Pas De Calais, France. He had enlisted in Kelso in November 1914 and went to France in March 1915. He was killed by machine gun fire whilst out with a wiring party.
