Lance Bombardier Peter Purves

Lance Bombardier Peter Lillie Purves, ( possibly ) 1 Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery. He was killed in action in Libya on 9th February 1941, aged 24. He had been born in Sprouston, Roxburghshire and was the son of Janet Purves and  the husband of Alice Purves of Bethnal Green, London and is buried in Benghazi War Cemetery, Libya. The Regiment was equipped with the versatile 25 Pound Field Gun which of course was not horse drawn by this time.
