Lieutenant Peter Foster

Lieutenant Peter Frederick Evelyn Foster, 10th Royal Hussars, Royal Armoured Corps. He was killed in action in the Western Desert, North Africa on 23rd January 1942 during” Operation Crusader “, aged 21. He was the son of Captain William and Mrs Marjorie Foster and the nephew of Gerald Foster of Wetherby, Yorkshire. He is buried in Benghazi War Cemetery, Libya. His regiment was part of 7th Armoured Division and operated the Crusader medium tank. The photographs a tank in the desert during the Operation.
