Sergeant James Notman

Sergeant James Notman, 5th ( Service ) Battalion, Cameron Highlanders. ( only one Notman on C.W.G.C. site but a Private. ). He died of wounds on 27th November 1915 in Belgium  and is buried in Railway Dugouts Burial Ground, Ypres, Belgium. He had been born at Ledgerwood, Berwickshire and had lived with his Grandmother and Aunt at Craigsford, Earlston where he had been employed as a farm servant and had joined up in May 1915. The Publication ” Border Heroes of the War ” also lists him as a Private.
