Private George Young

Private George Young, Kings Own Scottish Borderers attached to the 12th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He was killed in action in France on 11th April 1917 during the Battle of Arras,aged 41 and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Arras, France. He was a married man and worked in Selkirk whilst his wife Agnes Kerr Young of " Harden " High Street and parents lived in Earlston. His parents had already lost one son and a son-in-law.
