Private Alexander Forrest

Private Alexander Lauder Forrest, 11th ( Service ) Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was killed in action in France on 9th April 1917 on the first day of the Battle of Arras. He was the son of John and Mary Forrest of Cumledge Mill, Duns and is buried in Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France. His Headstone is inscribed ” He Died That We Might Live”.
