Trooper George Hoare 110th ( 5th Battalion, The Border Regiment ) Regiment , Royal Armoured Corps. He was killed in action on 27th October 1942, aged 29, during the Battle of El Alamein. He was the son of Alfred and Annie Hoare and the husband of Helen Hoare of Cornhill-on-Tweed. He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Alamein, Egypt. The photos show British tanks during the Battle.
