Private George Cowe

Private George Cowe, Highland Light Infantry. ( The C.W.G.C. site has his Regiment as Kings Own Scottish Borderers transferred to 463rd Agricultural Coy. Labour Corps ). He died at Home on 13th November 1918, aged 27 and is buried in Crailing Parish Churchyard, Crailing, Roxburghshire. He was the son of David and Isabella Cowe of  Upper Nesbit,Crailing Hall and had been born in Roxburgh,  Roxburghshire. Before enlisting he had been employed as a ploughman. He died at the family home from influenza and pneumonia during the “Spanish Flu” epidemic that swept the World.
