Lance Corporal Peter Edington

Lance Corporal Peter Edington, 1st/5th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died at Gallipoli on 9th August 1915 and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Helles, Gallipoli, Turkey. On that date no Royal Scots Battalion was engaged with the Turks so it is probable he was killed by shellfire, an ever present danger. He was educated at the Berwickshire High School, Duns and is also commemorated on the Memorial Tablet placed in the new Berwickshire High School , Duns.
