Private John Gibson, 8th Battalion,( Manitoba Regiment ), Canadian Infantry. He died of wounds in France on 18th August 1918, aged 21 during the ” Advance to Victory” He was the son of the late Thomas Gibson of Chirnside and is buried in Terlincthin British Cemetery, Wimille, Boulogne, France. The photos show Allied troops advancing during the final 100 days of the War.
