Bombardier Frank Hogg

Bombardier Frank Hogg, 149th Anti-Tank Regiment ( Lancashire Yeomanry ). He was killed in action on 6th April 1943 in North Africa aged 35. He had been born in Chirnside and was the son of James and Alice Hogg of West End, Chirnside and the husband of Mary Hogg of Craigneuk, Wishaw and is buried in Sfax War Cemetery, Tunisia. He had worked with Mr Stoddard of Berwick as a barman also in Newcastle, Coldstream ,and Perth. He had served his apprenticeship as a grocer with Mr Patterson of Chirnside and he left a wife and one child. His Headstone is inscribed ” Our Lady Of Lourdes Pray For Him “. His Unit operated the 2 pounder anti tank gun as shown below.
