Private John Ewart, 81st Battalion, Training Reserve. He died at Home on 25th April 1917, aged 25. He was the son of Hannah Ewart of Mindrum, Cornhill-on-Tweed and is buried in Branxton ( St. Paul ) Churchyard, Branxton, Northumberland. The 81st usually sent its recruits to either the 28th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers or the 14th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment.
