Private William Waite

Private William Ogle Waite, 1st/8th ( Territorial ) Battalion, Royal Scots. He died in a casualty clearing station in France of severe wounds to his arms on 11th December 1916, aged 19. He had been born in Berwick, enlisted in Berwick and was the son of Janet and the late John Waite of Berwick. He is buried in Contay British Cemetery, Contay, Somme, France where his Headstone is inscribed ” Nobly Striving He Nobly Fell That We Might Live”.
