Private William Grieve

Private William Grieve, 23rd Battalion ( 4th Tyneside Scottish ), Northumberland Fusiliers. He was killed in France on 20th March 1918, aged 23, the day before the start of the German March Offensive. He was the son of Jane and the late Thomas Grieve of 10 Church Road, Tweedmouth and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, Arras, France. At that time the Battalion were in front line trenches in the Croiselles sector.
