Lance Corporal William Dickinson

Lance Corporal William Haswell Dickinson, 25th ( 2nd Tyneside Irish ) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers. He died of wounds in France on 14th September 1917, aged 22. He had been born in Berwick and was the son of James and Isabella Dickinson of 35 Pont Street, Ashington and is buried in Tincourt New British Cemetery, Somme, France. At that time the Battalion were in front line trenches in the Hagricourt sector of the Somme front and several attacks were made on German positions there at that time. His Headstone is inscribed ” Gone But Not Forgotten”.
