Donkeyman Thomas Scott

Donkeyman Thomas Alexander Scott, Merchant Navy. He was lost at sea aboard the S.S. ” Lodaner ” on 14th April 1918, aged 40. He was the son of Helen and the late Thomas Scott of 22 East Street, Berwick and is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, London. He had been born at Chathill, Northumberland. The ship was an American Cargo ship of 3,291 tons and had been chartered by the Admiralty. It had been in transit with a cargo of ore from Salta Caballo to Glasgow when it was sunk by UB-73 near the South Arklow light vessel with 32 crew were lost.
