Private John Stapleton Weatherburn, 1st Battalion, Australian Infantry. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 2nd May 1915, aged 31. He was the son of Alexander and Elizabeth Weatherburn of 11 Sherburn Terrace, Consett and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, Turkey. He was a native of Berwick.
