Pilot Officer John Hogg Erskine, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. He was a Pilot with 48 Squadron. Coastal Command, and died at Home on 1st January 1941, aged 26. He was the son of Edwin and Annie Erskine of Berwick and is buried in Berwick-upon-Tweed Cemetery. At that time the Squadron flew the Avro Anson from Hooton Park, Merseyside on anti submarine patrols over the Atlantic.
