Private John Davidson

Private John Davidson, 2nd Battalion, Kings Own Scottish Borderers. He was killed in action in France on 13th October 1914 and is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, Nord, France. He was a native of Berwick and a Regular Soldier. He fell in the confused fighting near Givenchy during what is called the ” Race to the Sea ” but what really was attempts by each side to turn the other’s flank. The photos show British troops in late 1914.
