Private James Skelton

Private James Skelton, 18th ( Service ) Battalion, Highland Light Infantry. He was killed in action in Belgium, aged 32, on 30th September 1918 during the ” Advance to Victory “. He was the husband of Annie Dodds Skelton of 49 West End, Tweedmouth and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Flanders, Belgium. The photographs show Allied troops advancing against the retreating German army during the last 100 days of the War.
